5. HOW PAYMENTS AND ROYALTIES WORK ON HOME GIGS
1. Setting Your Gig/Tour Price
As the musician or artist, you have full control over setting the purchase price for your Gigs or Tours. When determining the price, consider factors such as the quality of your recording and your popularity.
2. Revenue Sharing
• The first £2 of every ticket purchase is allocated to cover service and third-party charges.
• Beyond this, artists receive 80% of the remaining revenue, while Home Gigs retains a 20% commission.
3. Payment Schedule
Artists will receive their share of the royalties within two weeks after the release date of their Gig or Tour.
4. Responsibility for Royalty Distribution
Artists are responsible for distributing royalties to all parties with rights to the performed songs. This includes labels, songwriters, or any other rights holders.
5. Licensing for Cover Songs
• Performing cover songs requires obtaining the appropriate licenses.
• Unauthorized cover songs are strictly prohibited. Any use of cover songs without proper licensing will result in the withholding of royalty payments.
6. VIEW PURCHASED PASSES
1. Click on the stacked paper icon in the bottom menu bar.
2. This will open the My Passes page, where all your purchased passes are displayed as badges.
3. Alternatively, use the search bar on the Home page to locate a specific Pass or Tour. (Musicians can only use this step)
7. WATCHING GIGS/TOURS ON A BIGGER SCREEN
You can stream performances to a larger screen using AirPlay or Chromecast, depending on your device’s capabilities.
8. DESIGNING YOUR BADGE STEP BY STEP GUIDE
Creating your badge is super simple and fun! While there are many tools to choose from, we’ve found Canva (no affiliation, just a fan!) to be the easiest. It’s free to use, though a paid version offers even more features. Ready to dive in? Here’s how:
1. Pick Your Canvas
Start with a blank slate by choosing the standard Instagram post size: 1080 x 1080 px.
2. Keep It Clean
Set your background to white. This ensures your badge pops on the “Fans” badge page!
3. Explore “Elements”
Click “Elements” on the side menu and type in “Round pin badge.” Watch as a variety of badge templates appear, ready for your personal touch.
4. Colour Your Badge
Select the badge colour that best represents your vibe.
5. Add Your Logo
Click “Upload” on the side menu and bring in your logo or design. Don’t have one yet? Canva’s got you covered—design one right there!
6. Remove the Background
Highlight your design by selecting your uploaded image and using the “BG Remover” tool from the top menu.
7. Place and Perfect
Position your image on the badge until it’s just right.
8. Save Your Creation
Once your badge looks exactly how you want it, hit download and save your masterpiece!
Tips for a Polished Look
While your badge doesn’t have to be round, a circular shape matches the aesthetic of the “Fans” badge page and blends seamlessly with other artists’ designs. That said, this is your badge, so make it reflect you!
Other graphic design platforms work too, so don’t feel limited—just have fun and let your creativity shine.
We can’t wait to see your designs come to life!
9. UPLOADING BACKSTAGE CONTENT
Want to share exclusive backstage content? It’s easy! Create it just like you would a gig and add it to your tour. Fans who haven’t purchased the tour can still get a glimpse—at a price! This not only gives them a taste of the action but also boosts your tour sales.
We know it’s not the most streamlined process (yet!), but hang tight—the next version will include a much simpler way to add content. For now, let your creativity shine and give your fans something they can’t resist!
10. HELP WITH PRODUCTION COSTS
Need help funding your gigs? Why not score a sponsorship to bring your vision to life! With even basic, free video editing tools, you can showcase your sponsor’s ad at the start of your gig or feature their logo in the corner throughout your performance. It’s a win-win! And don’t worry—we’re not here to take a cut of your sponsorship earnings. Our mission is to support artists, not to squeeze every dime from your pocket.
Just keep it clean—these sponsorships aren’t allowed: misleading materials, promotion of discrimination, illegal products or services, pharmaceutical products, political campaigns , or anything in the adult product category.
Stay creative, stay ethical, and let’s make your gigs shine!
